Psychedelics on the Couch

An Introduction to Psychedelic-assisted Therapies for Mental Health Professionals, Counselors, Therapists, and Healers

As mental health care is quickly shifting to incorporate the use of psychedelics to aid in common mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction, mental health professionals are looking for a space to connect and discuss best practices. This desire has become even more present with the recent legalization and decriminalization of psilocybin mushrooms which took place in November of 2022.

As a response, Reflective Healing and An Enduring Love have come together to provide an introductory workshop for mental health professionals to come together in order to unpack preconceived notions surrounding psychedelics, provide a framework for understanding how to incorporate psychedelics in healing and therapeutic contexts, synthesize emerging research surrounding the use of psychedelics as a therapeutic tool and create a foundation for ethical and professional competencies for working in this emerging practice.

Intended for counselors, therapists, or any helping professional who would like to expand their knowledge base on the use of psychedelics, this one-day Psychedelics on the Couch Workshop will help build consistency and uniformity among practitioners ensuring the safe, ethical and effective use of psychedelics as therapeutic tools.

This workshop will take place on January 12th, 2024 from 9am-5pm at Front Range Community College off of Harmony and Shields. Facilitators include Dori Lewis, MA, LPC, LMHC, and Dr. Shannon Hughes, MSW, PhD.
