An Introduction to Psychedelic-assisted Therapies for Mental Health Professionals and healers.
Psychedelics on the Couch
As the number of individuals experiencing mental health problems becomes more prevalent, the utilization of psychoactive substances to help address these issues is becoming more commonplace. Certain psychedelic therapies are already in place with more expected to have FDA approval over the next decade. Because of this, mental health and healing professionals require more venues to share their expertise and discuss the benefits and risks surrounding these types of therapies.
This in-person workshop is for counselors, therapists, or any helping professional who wants to develop a firmer knowledge base on psychedelics and psychedelic-assisted therapy using ketamine as the tool. The workshop will also provide opportunities for individuals to learn systems necessary for understanding the utilizaiton of psychoactive substances in a theraputic context as well as an opportunity to discuss the ethics behind the practice.
This workshop will be delivered in person in Fort Collins, CO, at Front Range Community College on August 12th from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and will include insights from Dori Lewis, MA, LPC, LMHC, Dr. Rob Colbert, MA, PhD, LPC, and Dr. Shannon Hughes, MSW, PhD.
